Daniel J. Sullivan, Esq. Law School Admissions Consulting

 

When you engage Sullivan Law School Admissions Consulting LLC you will work solely with one person: Dan Sullivan. Dan has more than thirty years of experience as a practicing litigation attorney and more than twenty as a law school admissions consultant. He graduated in 1986 from the University of Chicago Law School and became a member of the New York bar. Prior to that, he received an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Michigan, and a B.A. in English, magna cum laude, and a B.S. in accounting, magna cum laude, from Villanova University. When he applied to law school, his undergraduate GPA was 3.86 and he had scored the equivalent of a 177 on today’s scale on the LSAT. For three years as an undergraduate, he was a member of his school’s intercollegiate debate team, and served as its captain his senior year.

 

After law school, Dan spent ten years in the litigation department at one of the preeminent “Wall Street firms,” Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. In the years since then, he has been a partner at two smaller firms in New York and Boston, and served for two years as the Head of Litigation for a Fortune 500 financial services company. He has tried or argued cases involving issues across the legal spectrum within civil litigation, but his specialties include securities, banking, employment and contract disputes. He has filed hundreds of briefs, motions, affidavits and other presentations in courts across the country, including numerous times in the United States Supreme Court. In 1997, the lawyer rating company Martindale Hubbell rated Dan Sullivan “AV,”meaning that as compared to other New York City litigators, his legal ability is regarded as “preeminent,” and his ethical standards “very high,” the highest rating available in each measure.

 

Dan began informally advising his political science professor wife’s students on law school admissions in the mid-90’s, made it a part of his law practice as their numbers grew, formally opened Sullivan Law School Admissions Consulting in 2007, and is now engaged full-time in that work as he retires from the active practice of law. He brings the same dedication and skills to his law school applicant clients as he did to his corporate clients.
